For the Barreness is hosting our annual Not-So-Happy Mother’s Day Card Exchange again this year.
For many of us, Mother’s Day is not the joyous celebration it is meant to be. Instead, it can be a painful reminder of the families we long for and the paths we didn’t expect to walk. We’re surrounded by celebrations—flowers in every shop, photos on social media, and what seems like moms everywhere being cherished in ways we deeply wish we could be.
Whether you are still in the trenches, trying to have your first baby, navigating infertility, grieving a loss, or finding your way on the other side while still carrying the weight of that journey—this exchange is for you. Even if you have had success after infertility, you are still welcome here to send love and thoughtfulness to someone who understands.

You’ll be paired with another warrior to send a card to. The only rule is no pregnancy, baby, or family photo cards. Your card can be funny, sweet, heartfelt, whatever feels right to let someone know they are seen, cared for, and not alone. 💕
Receiving a card can be incredibly meaningful and the one you send might just be the small moment of kindness someone needs during an otherwise heartbreaking time of year. 🫂
