Surviving the Holiday Season

That Fertile Feeling

The end of the year can be a difficult time when you’re trying to conceive. Another year has gone by without you having a baby to show for it. You’re surrounded by ads and movies that show you what real domestic bliss looks like. And you may be dreading the parties and family gatherings where the conversations revolve around everyone’s kids and where you can expect intrusive questions about your own family situation.
On this episode of the podcast, I talk with Meg who runs the popular Instagram account @for_the_barreness. We discuss how you can create holiday rituals that actually make you feel good, how to survive the holiday parties and the importance of setting the right intentions for 2024. We also discuss our favorite books of 2023 and how Meg recently met Daniet Radcliffe. I admire Meg for her vulnerability and all the wisdom that she has to share!

Being Type-A When You Have No Control

Fertility LifeRaft

Don’t miss this brilliant chat I had with Meg Faith - a smart, funny gal over in sunny Cali who gets what it’s like to go through a fertility journey cos she’s in it right now.

Meg is a self-confessed “Type A+” and we talk about:

  • how she deals with the lack of control (escapism via smutty novels and Harry Potter 🤣)

  • co-planning her treatments with her healthcare team and her own research

  • reclaiming joy

Are you type A too?

"Meg Faith Tells Us Her Story"

IVF Babble

“It takes a lot of stamina to provide support to someone going through infertility or recurrent losses, and sadly not all friendships can sustain it. As my friends became mothers while my life remained the same, it felt like everyone I knew had gone off to college and I was stuck repeating senior year of high school.”

The power of the (in)fertility community

That Fertile Feeling

When you’re dealing with (in)fertility, it can feel like a really lonely journey. That’s where the (in)fertility community comes in. I’ve heard it said many times that it’s the worst club to be a member of, but one with the world’s best and most supportive members. On this episode of the podcast, I talk to Meg, who’s the creator of the popular webpage and IG account ‘For the Barreness’. We discuss what made her decide to start this online community and what it has brought her throughout her own fertility journey. We also touch upon what she has learned about herself along the way and how she copes with the hard times. Trigger warning: we discuss our miscarriages.
